The Education Committee meets every second Wednesday at 8am at the Chamber.
The Education Committee provides support for the school systems, technical schools, and for the certified literate community programs in Jackson County.
- Partners in Education: To administer and assist in maintaining the relationships between the business community and the schools within the county and cities to enhance and expand the educational opportunities for all students.
- CHOICES: The Choices program is a series of classes taught (by volunteers) to 7th grade students in all three school systems. The purpose of the class is to emphasize the importance of good choices.
- STAR and Teacher of the Year Reception: To recognize and honor the STAR students and teachers in the county and the Teachers of the Year in each school.
