One of the fastest growing committees of the Chamber, The Women in Business meet at noon every third Wednesday of the month (lunch provided) at First Georgia Banking Co. in Jefferson. This committee recognizes women's positive influence in Jackson County through dedication, service and diversity. This committee is in the process of beginning a Women's Mentoring Group and they host a yearly luncheon for the chamber membership and Jackson County community where they present an award for the Jackson County Women in Business WOMAN OF THE YEAR.
2008 was the inaugural WOMAN OF THE YEAR award and we congratulate MARTA MARTIN - the 2008 receipent of the Woman of the Year Award.
The Woman of the Year heralds the past and present achievements of an outstanding woman in the Jackson County Area. Women are nominated and go through an indepth application process and are then interviewed by a panel who then choses the winner.
